Kite Surfing is one of the newest and most exciting water sports in the world and can bring many years of exhilaration and fun to anyone willing to learn.

However, like any "extreme sport" there are some risks involved while learning and practising Kite Surfing. That's why Jon Dodds our in-house IKO Examiner and Training Master has personally devised The Kite Club Steps. You can't find a kiteboard school that offers more complete training in Cabarete.

The Kite Club Steps ensure students have the Essential Knowledge and the Essential Skills needed to practice Kite Surfing safely during their lessons and after they leave the Kitesurf School. These steps also cover all the IKO Standards letting your IKO Instructor certify you with the IKO Kite Boarders Card . You can use this when you continue your training or rent kiteboard equipment in another iko school or center to prove your level. You can also use it to get IKO Kiteboarders Insurance

Every Kite Surfer's first priority should be their personal safety and the safety of the people around them. Therefore, please listen carefully to all that your IKO Instructor says, and give proper consideration to all the Essential Skills and Knowledge you'll need to become a ripping Kite Surfer!

Our training program offers you the most comprehensive lessons you'll find anywhere. With enfisise on safety and fun you'll learn everthing you need to know whilst having a great time. We teach Beginner Lessons, Intermediate and Advanced lessons, IKO Instructor Training courses and many other lessons needed to become a complete Kiteboarder.

All students recieve an IKO Kite Boarders Card to certify thier level of Kite Boarding.

Intensive Kite Courses are special designed to maximize your training. You'll get all the quality instruction offered on our other courses plus extra theory and full use of the Equipment under Supervision for as long as you want to practice. This way you'll be able to really grasp Kite Surfing in the shortest time possible. These course are for those who are serious about going home competent Kite Surfers.

Supervision is for those who can not stay upwind or need some assistance, or if your instructor does not think you are ready to practice alone. Supervision includes all the Equipment you need plus an Assistant who will stay with you and keep a close eye on you for your safety.

All unsupervised rentals are subject to terms and a deposit. You must have an autonomous level and be able to ride up wind to rent unsupervised.
If you do not have an IKO Kiteboarders Card then a short assesment may be given.

IKO Instructor Training Courses are considered the most professional and efficient Kiteboarding Instruction method worldwide. Kite Club Cabarete is the only KiteBoarding school in Cabarete that is run by an IKO Examiner, Jon Dodds. We offer complete IKO Instructor Training course Packages, including IKO Instructor Training Course Level 1, IKO Assistant Instructor course, First Aid CPR, Power Boat Handling and pre/post course training and shadowing to ensure your pass. Plus great oportunities for work experience and employment.

Advanced Training is for you i you want to move on to the next level and start to jump, make power turns, ride switch or back rolls then take a one to one Advanced Training Session with a level 2 instructor. Catered to your learning needs, lessons are conducted with Radio Helmets, from a Support Boat or during long down wind runs. Advanced Training Sessions are led by IKO Examiner and Head Instructor Jon Dodds. Jon Dodds has been practicing and teaching Kite Boarding since 1999, starting a successful kite school in the UK then moving to the Dominican Republic to pursue his passion in the sunshine and steady winds of Cabarete.

Please note: The amount of time spent on each level depends upon your own abilities and are estimations only. More or less time may be spent according to your Instructors advice.

Cabarete Surf Camp is a unique place to stay, and one of a kind in Cabarete. There is a special feel to the place as people from all over the world mingle, laugh and enjoy their surroundings.

The accommodation is mainly composed of sophisticated huts and one main apartment creating a tropical village paradise. All rooms are fitted with fans and many come with en suite and internet connection. We have breakfast and an evening meal included within our package.

Within our standard package price there are single, twin and double rooms available. These rooms come with a fan, a sink and a mosquito net and access to clean shared bathroom facilities.
